About the Sleep Health Foundation

The Sleep Health Foundation is a national community-based charitable organisation established to raise awareness of the negative impact of untreated sleep disorders and poor sleep practices on health, safety, productivity and quality of life.
It aims through advocacy, public education and support of research to promote the prevention and control of sleep disorders and sleep deprivation.

The Foundation’s objectives are to:
|
- Raise public awareness of and promote community involvement in sleep health issues and their resolution;
|
- Undertake targeted education and service delivery programmes in relation to sleep health issues;
|
- Encourage best practice in the delivery of health care related to sleep disorders;
|
- Advocate sleep health issues to government, employer bodies, road safety authorities and other organisations;
|
- Raise and administer funds for community awareness programmes in relation to sleep health issues;
|
- Raise and administer funds for research into the detection, prevention and treatment of sleep disorders and sleep deprivation;
|
- Collaborate with professional organisations involved in sleep health to promote better sleep behaviours and well-being.

About Travelodge's Sleep Expert - Dr David Hillman
|
Dr David Hillman is the Sleep Heath Foundation’s Chairman and Travelodge’s Sleep Expert. He has lent the Foundation’s expertise to develop a list of top sleep tips to help Travelodge’s guests get the best night’s sleep possible.
Based in Perth, Dr Hillman is a physician and scientist who specialises in Sleep Medicine. Dr Hillman and his colleagues at the Sleep Health Foundation are passionate about encouraging better sleeping habits, identifying and treating those with sleep disorders and getting the message out there about the importance of a good night’s sleep. He believes that good sleep is key to wellbeing, productivity, safety and quality of life.
